Victoria Braithwaite

b. 5 February 1973, Glasgow, Scotland

Working mainly in watercolour, Victoria has focused for the last few years almost exclusively on botanical subjects, becoming interested in weathering, decay, and transformation. Always on the lookout for expressive, gestural subjects, she attempts to capture them at their most striking.

While living and working in Paris, she attended classes in traditional drawing and painting techniques over several years. On her return to Scotland, she found a local botanical art course and became quickly enthralled, studying for several years before starting to exhibit.

She runs regular local classes and workshops by invitation.

She has exhibited widely in juried exhibitions, won several awards, and her work is held in several private collections, including that of Dr. Shirley Sherwood.
